For many cancer patients, especially children and women undergoing treatment, hair loss can be one of the most difficult side effects to cope with. A wig not only restores their appearance but also helps them regain confidence, dignity, and a sense of normalcy during a challenging time.

At Dopamine Foundation, we believe that every strand of hair can bring hope. Through our Love is in the Hair initiative, we collect hair donations that are carefully crafted into wigs for oncology patients. These wigs are provided at no cost, ensuring that financial barriers never stand in the way of someone’s self-esteem.

Why Donate Hair?

Your donation helps restore smiles, confidence, and dignity.
It takes 6–8 ponytails to make a single wig.
Each wig costs ₹15,000–₹20,000, but we provide them free to patients.
With proper care, one wig can last 12–18 months.
Every donor receives a Certificate of Appreciation as a token of gratitude

Who Can Donate?

Anyone—children, women, or men—willing to cut and donate their hair.
Natural, untreated hair is preferred, but treated hair is also accepted if it is in good condition.
A minimum of 12 inches is ideal, but shorter lengths can also help make fringes and partial wigs.
Grey hair is accepted in some cases.

How to Donate Hair

Wash and dry your hair thoroughly before cutting.
Tie your hair into small ponytails or braids.
Cut just above the band to secure the strands.
Place the hair in a clean, dry zip-lock or envelope.
Send it to our office or our partnered collection centers.
Receive your Certificate of Appreciation for making a difference.

Q. What is the minimum length required?

We recommend at least 12 inches. However, shorter lengths can be used for fringes or partial wigs.

Q. Can I donate colored or treated hair?

Yes, as long as the hair is healthy. Bleached and chemically damaged hair is not suitable.

Q. Will I receive a certificate?

Yes! Every donor receives a personalized Certificate of Appreciation to acknowledge their kindness and contribution.

Q. Where should I send the hair?

You can courier your donation to our foundation office. Contact Us for mailing details.
